It's really hard for us to sit down and write this review because we honestly don't know where to begin. Amy is just the kindest, most thoughtful, extraordinarily talented and beautiful human. As a wedding photographer myself, it was really paramount that my husband and I have a photographer that we knew we could trust with all our hearts for our wedding, and Amy was undoubtedly that person. I know that our wedding photos are timelessly beautiful, extraordinarily true to us, and just so, so beautiful. I'm eternally amazed at how Amy managed to capture it all, no matter what it was. I heard that she had been described as a ninja, and I sort of chuckled at that until I experienced the way that she works. She. Is. A. Ninja. She captures all of the little quiet moments alongside the loud ones, and it's all crafted absolutely brilliantly. We are forever grateful for Amy. We hold our wedding images and the memories she was with us to create so near and dear to our hearts.

We are so, so grateful that Amy crossed our paths while looking to book a photographer. She captured our day perfectly, more perfectly than we could have envisioned. Amy is a truly talented photographer. She has a wonderful eye for capturing and editing beautiful photos but what won us over was her relaxed and genuine personality. She was the only photographer we interviewed. Upon meeting her and hearing how she came to love photography, she just made us feel right at home. We knew that she was the one we could fully trust to capture our day!

Amy is all about being in the present and capturing moments as organically as possible, and she did just that. We never once felt uncomfortable with her. We felt like we could truly be ourselves, not have to hold back anything, and really focus on each other the whole day (which was the point). We will always be able to look back on the day and not only have beautiful photos, but we will be able to relive all the raw and beautiful moments. Her ability to work with people and make them feel comfortable in front of the camera is awesome, and the photos prove that. We would absolutely recommend Amy to photograph your day or just yourselves for whatever reason. You won't regret it!

Amy’s passion for what she does shines through every photo she takes. From the very first moment we met her we knew we had chosen the best possible photographer for our engagement and wedding, and my husband and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the finished product. We told her that we were more interested in the “moments” of our wedding rather than posed shots and situations and she captured them beautifully. Hiring Amy Ellis as our photographer was one of the first and surest wedding decisions we made. We knew this lover of light would capture the tone and intent of our day and, sure enough, she did all that and more. We found her to be an undeniable list of the following: warm, unassuming, informed, thorough, guiding, calming, clear, professional, invested, open, and patient. She remembered our family members' names and relationships without error and seamlessly joined festivities while navigating our important moments. My wife and I were grateful for her (as expected!) enthusiasm for the nontraditional; the resulting photographs under her direction made even the most ordinary moments look extraordinary.

Being a queer couple, it was important to us to surround ourselves and nonconforming friends with folks that would be respectful and mindful and Amy was just that. From a business perspective, Amy Ellis conducted all communication with heart and meticulous absorption. (In fact, we welcomed joyous Skype conversations, gifts, pertinent questionnaires, and follow-up's in our Seattle home consistently over the course of two years!) Preview photographs were delectable; turnaround time on final photographs was swift. Her website is easily navigable and all her business styling is done with thoughtful design. What a treasure and what an eye!

We couldn't be happier that we chose Amy to be our photographer! She came highly recommend by our friends Brandon and Emily Kirkley and after seeing all of the incredible shots she captured for them, we knew she was the one for us. Trust me, we looked through several other photographers portfolios and Amy's absolutely blew the competition out of the water like a freakin' atomic bomb! Not only does she take breath-taking photographs, she is able to capture the "mood" like no other. We were immediately drawn to her style of photography as well as her bubbly personality. She continued to go above and beyond our expectations and worked incredibly hard to make sure we were happy with her work. She was so quick to get our photos back to us as well. She even sent us several previews for us to see the very next day! Her level of professionalism was unmatched with any of the other vendors we hired for the big day. We had such an amazing time working with Amy and hope that we get the chance to work with her again in the future. If you decide to work with Amy, it won't be long before you, too, will be singing her praises!

Amy is a reliable and professional but very fun and talented photographer. Photography is important to people because it allows one to keep an important memory forever. Amy's ability to capture these special moments and memories while telling a story through her photos is exactly what people look for when taking pictures. Amy is always open to creative ideas and her sweet personality makes her very easy to work with. She is efficient with her work with quick turn-a-rounds in her edits. Her pricing is also reasonable and worth every penny. I am so happy that I found Amy to photograph my wedding and maternity photos. I plan to use her for plenty more future photo sessions and events!
